Last week we highlighted Pink Ribbon Day coming up on the 25th October. This entire month is also important for another reason - Anxiety and Depression Awareness Month.
Over a million people in Australia live with depression. Over two million have an anxiety disorder. With the right treatment, most people recover.
It's easy to help raise awareness. Sometimes the simplest acts have the greatest impact - just talking openly about anxiety and depression helps reduce the stigma.
beyondblue Anxiety and Depression Awareness Month provides an opportunity for workplaces, community groups and individuals to take part in activities to raise awareness of anxiety and depression, and help reduce the associated stigma.

This weeks challenge is Just Add Blue ...
Everyone loves to know that they've been thought of, so we thought we'd have an additional part to this week's challenge, too. It's completely optional, and we're not expecting you to tell us all about it in your entry post (but you can if you want!).
A Random Act of Kindness (RAK) is when you do something nice for someone for no particular reason, so it's not for their birthday, or Christmas etc. So our add-on challenge to you is to send/give the card you create for Just Add Blue to someone you care about...
Just... Because!
It doesn't have to be someone who's suffering depression, or someone who's struggling. It could be someone who makes you laugh, or someone you've been out of touch with for a while. Maybe it's someone who'd just like your card! Whoever! The idea is to make your card, and then send it!
Just Add Ink Rules:
- Provide a direct link to the post where you've displayed your creation using Mr. Linky. Incorrect links, or blog links that are down-right advertising will be deleted.
- Entries with 3 or more challenges listed against their creation will be deleted.
- Projects must be new.
- Please mention our challenge and provide a link back here in your post, so others can come and join in the fun too!
- The DT girls are welcome to play along and inspire, but are not eligible for the top picks.
- Make any project you like (card, layout, 3D project, etc) using our challenge as inspiration.
- While the DT uses Stampin' Up! products, you're welcome to use any products you like.
We can't wait to see what you come up with!
Get your entries in before midnight Wednesday (EST).

This is a WONDERFUL idea for a Challenge! I think random acts of kindness are the most AMAZING things you can do! LOVE the Blue, too, because I have a teenage son with both anxiety and depression and that's a challenge all in itself. Hope I get some time to play but wanted to thank you for this FAB challenge!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great thing to do, and all your cards are beautiful
ReplyDeleteYou girls ROCK with this challenge! I've suffered from Depression so I know exactly how much just a card in the mail from someone really means and how it can lift your spirits! I'm going to sit and make a few 'blue' cards and send them on to people who have made a difference to my life just by being there!
ReplyDeleteThank you girls for this wonderful challenge!
Karen

What a great challenge. I'd already made a blue snowflake card, which I've added to take part in your challenge. I know a little something about depression - so this touched a nerve. Thanks for a fun challenge.
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful challenge! I am loving all your awareness challenges. Will definitely be making a blue card and sending it to my friend. Thanks for the challenge:)
ReplyDeleteHi ladies, what a beautiful challenge. And once again the design team has blown me away with their creations. I must get off my butt and start joining in on some challenges again. Great work

ReplyDeleteI got a chance to play along and I linked my card.
ReplyDeleteLove your work, girls, and love that you get behind such worthwhile causes. There should be NO stigma attached to the terms 'depression' and 'anxiety', as they affect so many people. Hugs to you, for spreading the word. And thanks for pushing me outside my "colour comfort zone"!!
ReplyDeleteI loved this challenge and it was also the perfect time to make a card and actually send it to someone special. Thank you so much for this challenge.

Thanks so much for the challenge. We don't often make cards "Just Because" . So it will be a nice surprise for the recipient to receive a card that she wasn't expecting.
ReplyDeleteKelly
